Benefits of Google AdWords

The Google AdWords program is a great way for anyone to promote their website, increase lead generation, and improve sales. While there are various alternatives to AdWords, this program is the first that every marketer should go to, as it is the most popular and is managed by the world's largest search engine. With AdWords, your listing can appear right at the top of Google search results for a small fee; you cannot do that with competitor services.

AdWords is a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) service, in which you pay Google a certain amount for each lead they send you. The price per click is determined primarily by your niche. If you are in a competitive niche, such as debt consolidation, the price per click could run as high as over a pound. For niches with essentially no competition, you might only pay three to four pence. The ideal situation is to have a product which you can sell for a lot of money, has high profit margins, and is in a non-competitive niche. That way, you can garner a lot of traffic through AdWords for a low cost, and even if you have a less than one percent conversion rate, just a single sale would cover what you paid for AdWords.

For certain industries, AdWords may not be the best solution. The need for it must be evaluated on a case by case basis. Some businesses simply may not be able to afford AdWords because they exist in a highly competitive niche, or they sell a product that is not suited for PPC advertising. In any case, AdWords is something that every business should consider, as for many firms, it has been the key factor that helped propel them to success.
